N. insignis has sky-blue flowers, and its varieties are grandiflora, alba, purpurea-rubra, and striata.

The insignis section should always be preferred to the others.

Olearia Insignis - The plant is dwarf, branched, the branches as thick as the little finger; the leaves from 3 to 5 inches long, 2 inches broad, rounded at the ends, thick and hard, shining green on the upper surface.

The beautiful Monterey pine, P. insignis, distinguished by the brilliant colour of its foliage, has the leaves in tufts of three or four; the lower cone-scales have recurved points.
